Admission Document Requirements
Candidates meeting the basic admission prerequisites for degree/diploma programs must furnish the subsequent documents:
- Three copies of Valid CNIC or B Form
- Three Passport Size Photographs of the applicant (with Blue Background)
- Three attested copies of Matriculation or equivalent marks sheet or certificate
- Three attested copies of intermediate or equivalent marks sheet/result card or equivalent
- Three attested copies of Bachelor’s detail marks sheet/Result card/Final transcript with all parts or equivalent official documents
- Scanned documents with clear readability
- Equivalence Certificate from IBCC and HEC if the applicant possesses A/O Level Certificates and Foreign Degrees
- For candidates opting for admission through the General Route, requiring credit transfer or course exemption:

Admission of Overseas Pakistani Students
Overseas Pakistani students residing abroad can apply for admission to the Virtual University of Pakistan through the online admission link/portal. After submitting the application online, a physical copy of the admission form must be sent to the Admission Office in Lahore via postal or courier services for additional processing and confirmation of admission.
Admissions of Foreign or Dual nation
For foreign or dual national students wishing to enroll at the Virtual University of Pakistan, admission will be granted only upon completion of the required formalities and receipt of confirmation from relevant authorities, such as HEC or vetting agencies. Criteria for Admission
- Admissions will begin on the specified dates mentioned above.
- Please note that admission applications for the spring 2023 session will not be considered based on Hope Certificates.
- Applicants must submit their admission form and required documents in hard copy (three sets) to the selected Campus of the University by the deadline provided in the Admission Schedule. The University will only process admission applications that adhere to this requirement.
- Ensure that all uploaded documents in the system are legible and have been scanned and uploaded according to the provided instructions.
- Candidates holding ‘A’ Levels or foreign diplomas/degrees must obtain an equivalency certificate from a recognized authority such as the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) in Islamabad to be eligible for admission. (http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/)
- Candidates currently enrolled at VU with regular admission status must cancel their previous admission before submitting a new admission application.
- Applicants must refrain from providing false information, misstatements, or counterfeit documents. The University reserves the right to take stringent action, including blacklisting a student or confiscating fees or degrees, in such cases.
- Each applicant is required to submit the fee for only one study program. If an applicant submits fees for multiple programs, the University reserves the right to cancel admission for one or all programs and confiscate the deposited fee.
- Admission forms submitted after the due date will not be accepted by the University.
- Please be advised that incomplete admission forms will be rejected. To avoid any inconvenience, applicants should meticulously upload and send complete sets of readable documents.
- Applicants must upload official transcripts or result cards issued by the relevant Board(s)/Universities. Note that online transcripts or result cards will not be accepted.
Criteria for Admission to Merit-Based Program
- Applicants interested in applying for admission to Biological Programs (BS Bioinformatics, BS Biotechnology, and BS Zoology) must indicate their preferred Lab choices when submitting their admission application forms. Merit for these programs will be determined on a Lab-wise basis.
- Successful candidates for Biological Programs will be selected based on their merit, and the results will be posted on the university website.
- Upon selection, successful candidates must ensure they submit their fees within the specified time frame in the Admission Schedule for spring 2023 to secure their admission.
Criteria for Course Exemptions/ Entry Route
- The University’s Equivalence Committee will evaluate applications for course exemptions by examining the applicant’s academic record from the past 14 years of education.

- The Equivalence Committee’s decision will be communicated to the applicants via email.
- Candidates applying for admission through Course Exemption, Entry Route, or Need-Based Scholarships must complete the respective form(s) provided as part of the admission application. Incomplete admission forms lacking filled forms for Course Exemption or Need-Based Scholarships will not be considered and will be processed as regular admission applications.
Attention
The following programs, including BS Psychology, BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Zoology, as well as Diploma in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, are not open to international applicants. Overseas applicants are encouraged to explore other academic programs available to them.
Please note that the admission form will be disregarded if there is any inconsistency between the CNIC information provided and the official records.
The Zero Semester policy does not apply to the following programs:
