PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, has refuted the allegations against him, terming the first information reports (FIRs) as false. He issued a cautionary message to the federal and Punjab governments, warning them to reconsider their tactics, as continuing on their current path could jeopardize governance.
Gandapur’s response comes in the wake of arrest warrants issued against him by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Ijaz Asif regarding the May 9 violence last year, during which military installations were attacked by mobs. These warrants, non-bailable in nature, were also extended to other leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. Gandapur has been instructed to appear before the court on April 2.
In a released statement, the Chief Minister highlighted similar FIRs registered against other political figures like Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Asif Ali Zardari in Dera Ismail Khan, cautioning against intimidation tactics. Gandapur warned that such approaches could impede effective governance and urged a change in attitude.

In a separate address to PTI workers in Syed Alyan village, Gandapur condemned bribery and encouraged citizens to resist such demands. He urged them to uphold dignity and take action against corrupt officials themselves, emphasizing the collective responsibility to combat corruption.
During a visit to the government-run Zamung Kor campus in Dera Ismail Khan, Gandapur reiterated the KP government’s commitment to supporting underprivileged children, ensuring their welfare and educational needs are met. He hosted an Iftar dinner for the children and distributed gifts and cash prizes, underscoring the government’s dedication to their well-being.
